Poker is a card game played by two or more people, either in casinos, private homes, and now in many online poker rooms. It is a game that requires skill and luck, but the best players know how to manage their money and play a good hand. The game comes in many different forms and betting structures, but most of them have a few core rules that must be adhered to.
Most poker games require players to ante something (usually a small amount, but the amount can vary by game and room) before being dealt cards. A group of professional tournament directors, known as the Professional Tournament Directors Association, has developed a set of 81 poker rules that can be found on their website and is recommended for adoption by any poker tournament.
